WIP - "Plus" Farming

I've finally found the time to slice into these Art Gallery - Luxe In Bloom beauties!

Clockwise from top left: Diamante Shine, Marquise Azure, Boucherouite Silver, Petite Petalie Lapis and Cascade Agate (middle)

I love the ink blot Cascade Agate pattern ...

The greys, blues and citrus colours are so fresh.

They are a lovely palate cleanser from all the pink I'm usually surrounded by.

Partnering the Art Gallery with the Hanky Linen (I'm using colour Birch) adds a nice level of texture.  I'm enjoying working on these blocks.  Expect this to be a quick finish!

I haven't forgotten about my Farmer's Wife ...

Introducing Block #7 "Birds in the Air" ... not my finest work hand piecing, but man-oh-man there were a lots of itty-bitty bits in this block - so small that they made my fingers feel like elephant feet handling them!

This one might end up in the "re-do" pile

It's nice to fill in another blank space on the progress chart - tick!

  1. Fun cross blocks. I like your use of the hanky linen. It's great to see you're still working on your FW blocks.

  10. Fingers feeling like Elephant feet! I nearly spit out my coffee when I read that! I feel the same way when paper piecing small pieces but didn't have the right term to describe it, now I do. Are you going to do all 111 blocks? I was playing with a layout yesterday that I think is my final choice for my FWQ and it uses 50 FWQ blocks which seems far more manageable!

  15. Wow! I'm blown away by your commitment to hand piece the farmer's wife block--all 40 tiny pieces. It's impressive. Elephant feet, I'd say not.

  17. I love the colours in your farmer's wife block. Did you know that there is a group here in Perth that specialises in getting together to commiserate about our Dear Jane, Farmer's Wife and other fiddly quilts?
