Pay It Forward

Today I'm here to "Pay It Forward"  ... it's something that's been happening in the quilting world ... well, really, the whole world ... for quite some time now.

I did a little Google to see if I could find the original post ... the post that started it all ... but there were so many "Pay It Forward" posts alongside "Random Acts of Kindness" posts that I couldn't see the wood from the trees.  I'm not complaining, its great that there are so many of these posts out there ... it means that there is still kindness in the world that I raise my children in ... but my inquisitive mind, being what it is, likes to know where it all started from.  If you know, please leave it in a comment!

Was it just THAT movie?  Or was that movie created in response to the movement?

So what's this "Pay it Forward" all about you ask?  Well, for me, it all started with a post from Deborah ... you can see it here.  She was the recipient of a gift ... made especially for her ... and in return all she had to do was "Pay it forward" within a year.  She offered on her blog to make a little something for three people that commented on her post.

I was lucky enough to be one of those people!

Love this mini Deborah made fror me ... and that little star charm hangs on my rotary cutter.
Guess who I think of every time I chop into some fabric?

So now it's my turn to pay it forward.

I'd like to pick three people:

One from a comment in this blog post
One from my followers on Instagram @sewgiving
and one from my local Perth Modern Quilt Guild

So ... what are you waiting for?  Leave a comment ... let me know what would you like me to make you ... A mini quilt ... a pouch ... or ... maybe a pillow?  Make sure you are willing to Pay It Forward within a year!

Hopefully I will randomly choose you!

But, if you miss out here ...

I didn't get a present Mum aka duck face

... hop on over to Ruth's blog at Charly and Ben's Crafty Corner ... she was lucky enough to receive a gift from Deborah too and is also Paying It Forward today!

Be kind to each other,

Sx
PS Pay-It Forward winners announced next Monday

  2. I love the concept of paying it forward, in fact I shall join in wether I'm chosen or not. There can never be enough good deeds in the world.

  3. What a lovely generous idea. Let's spread a little love and understanding in this increasingly violent and selfish world. A little pouch or mini quilt would be a gentle reminder to think of others not just ourselves.
