It has me absolutely mesmerized ... seriously, I've started a Pinterest Board!
It seems this has been going on for some time now. I may be a little late to the party, but I just had to give it a go.
2.5" square ... it's a 1/4 of the Pattern "Juicy Goosey" by Jeli Quilts |
Granted, this is a paper pieced pattern, so it's easier to control the fabric through the machine, but hey, it's my first go at trying something this insane ah-maz-ing!
I did suggest to the Possum Magic girls that we should try a Micro Quilt Round Robin next ... it was kiboshed pretty quickly - ha! In my defence, I am suffering from sleep deprivation due to myself and the whole clan having a shocker of a head cold ... but through all that snot-haze (sorry)... could it just ... maybe ... be a good idea?

Cheaper to post, less fabric commitment, uber cute due to insanely teeny tiny-ness of it. Surely it's a good idea.
ReplyDeleteSerena, I speak from experience when I say that paper piecing alone doesn't guarantee such wonderful results as you have here. Those are some teeny tiny pieces! i love the fabrics you chose too. So glad I followed you over from Let's Bee Social!
ReplyDeleteTiny is cute but no thank you, lol.
ReplyDeleteI've never paper pieced anything, but this is so tiny and sweet...
ReplyDeleteI love micro blocks and think you have a great idea with a micro mini. I was actually going to pitch that idea to a magazine but use the micro blocks to make a cushion. I can not imagine making the blocks any other way than with paper piecing!!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember poo-pooing the idea! Perhaps we just need to tackle one round robin at a time.
ReplyDeleteNow I am starting to think of things that tiny blocks could be used for: scissor fobs, glasses cases ...
Between you and/or Carla, I am expecting my Robin centre to have teeny tiny pieced borders and if not, I will be disappointed and shed matching teeny tiny tears ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't even have patience for large/regular paper piecing, I can't even think about teeny tiny ones!!
Teeny tiny tears--that's hilarious!
DeleteYeah, I'm so glad you're a convert!
ReplyDeletelooks so fun. How about a micro mini swap?
ReplyDeleteLove the look, not something I can do so I will admire the teeny tiny from afar! Looks great
ReplyDeleteLove your block.
ReplyDeletePop over for a visit sometime... I'm another paper piecing addict...

I can see why you have become obsessed with teeny tiny piecing. That blocks is just too cute! I do admire those little blocks shown in the palm of a hand. Got to go check out your pinterest board!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't do teeny tinny....so admire from a far your wonderful ability!
ReplyDeleteI love teeny tiny piecing too! It's so cute, and fun to make (although challenging sometimes too!) Great fabric choices, it'll look great as a full block!
ReplyDeleteWow that's amazingly tiny! Very cool. A micro quilt sounds great - instead of a round robin get a swap going? Mug rug or doll's cushion?
ReplyDeleteIsn't paper piecing great for making those itty bitty pieces stay sharp? I love it for that. Why don't you start your own micro round robin? I might be interested even if those Possum ladies aren't!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've got that crappy summer cold too. Here's hoping we're all feeling better soon!
Nice! I liked it so much that I now follow your Pinterest board. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, so beautiful and so tiny! You must have a lot of patience! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch tiny and perfect stitching, very nice!
ReplyDeleteI would try it but...I have no guarantees that all my geese would fly in one direction. Experience can be a bummer.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, that is amazing! I have seen teeny tiny piecing, I attempted some for the Zakka Style sew along. The piecing was fine, sewing them up in to magnets was not!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! A real wow!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet there would be others interested in a mini bee. It's hard to believe that block is only 2.5 inches, that really is tiny!!
ReplyDeleteI just started paper piecing, I cannot imagine trying to do something this small! This is awesome! I love it!
