Farmers Wife WIP

The Farmer's Daughter has been especially busy this last week ...

Must take pictures straight ...
Farmer's Daughter - Block 32

Tending to the Duck and Ducklings ...

Duck and Ducklings - Block 28

and helping the Cats catch the Mice!

Cats and Mice - Block 17
Might try one in the 60's region next

Meanwhile, I've started hand binding MiL's quilt - just a mere 304" ... sheesh!

... no wonder so many of you prefer machine binding!

  1. I love the fussy cutting in your FW blocks! Hand binding looks so much better, just keep on sewing and you'll eventually get back to where you started.

  2. Love your FW blocks! How are you liking the hand piecing? Do you think you will continue with that after your in laws leave? Hope you are enjoying the visit!!

  3. Can't believe they are all hand-sewn, I avoid hand sewing where-ever possible, sometimes even to the extent that it takes me longer to machine sew things. I have yet to hand bind a quilt.

  9. I love the Farmer's daughter block and I love how you are tracking what you have done. This is my first time at your blog, will you be making a quilt, or three? lol or are you just doing the blocks for the sake of it for now? Great progress!

  13. These are lovely! I've long admired the Farmer's Wife and Dear Jane quilts - might need to start thinking about one... So many possibilities. I love the way you're recording which ones you've done - it's like a sneak peak at how the end quilt will look. Love the bright colours too! Can't wait to see more!
